About the Barometer

The E3 Small Business Barometer provides a real-time indicator about the relative optimism or pessimism of the American economy by gathering weekly, quarterly, and monthly data about small businesses from entrepreneurs all across the U.S. – covering over 40 industries and all 50 states. E3 closely guards the personal privacy of this business data and only publishes analysis and commentary based upon the trends and insights of all the companies who participate in this national and regional index. The E3 Small Business Barometer is then tracked relative to the overall U.S. economy – including GDP, job creation and unemployment, interest rates, inflation, capital investment, imports-exports, and the Entrepreneurial Outlook^TM of real business owners as an indicator of anticipated future economic activity.
